Who is the trainer?

Trudy Marsh Grable is a long-time advocate in disability issues, family support, program development, curriculum design, and direct services. As the parent of an adult woman who uses disability services, her daughter and the thousands of families she supported, became her compass in advancing and driving her passions.

Trudy is an active member and trainer credentialed by The Learning Community for Person Centered Practices and utilizes the PCT tools in all aspects of her career and life.  Trudy is a consultant trainer. ​

Trudy retired from a 30-year career at Parents Helping Parents (PHP) in 2021. During her thirty years, she supported and trained thousands of parents and professionals, developed programs, and was part of the PHP leadership. Trudy continues volunteering at PHP and facilitates a support group for Parents of Adult Children with Developmental Disabilities

 

As Executive Director of Journey of Choice, a parent-directed supported living (SLS) agency for fourteen years, she managed the SLS agency and educated other families interested in parent-directed services. Trudy is also the founder of The BFF Project.

She attended Santa Clara University and obtained her certificate in Early Childhood Intervention in 1994. Before that, she studied at West Valley Community College and community college to become a medical assistant working in surgical and OB/GYN offices, and at El Camino Hospital for 15 years.

Trudy has served on many boards and committees in the community over the years, including Interchange, the Santa Clara County Office of Education Inclusion Collaborative, the Santa Clara County Disability Collaborative, The Epilepsy Foundation of America, and more.
