Supported Living Services (SLS) consist of a broad range of services to adults with developmental disabilities who, through the Individual Program Plan (IPP) process, choose to live in homes they own or lease in the community.

My Beliefs
 
  • Supported living is having the freedom of choice. 
  • The ability to say yes, to say no, and to say I’m not sure.
  • Choosing your friends and when you spend time with them.
  • It is the freedom to stay up late or sleep in. 
 
The freedom that so many have given their lives for every day across the world is something that people with disabilities, especially intellectual disabilities and autism, may never experience without a service like supported living or self-determination. Declaration of Independence said: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

The Service Design
Writing the Service Design is one of the most daunting tasks in starting your Supported Living Agency. The Service Design Template holds all the areas that need to be included by most regional centers, though it is geared toward San Andreas Regional Center. 
 
A Regional Center Employee Said: "A tool (the service design) that will save you dozens of hours and is said to be "an amazing piece of work" and "a timesaver for a potential provider."
